Wu-Massacre.
my early favorite for album of the year in 2010... Method Man, Ghostface Killah, and Raekwon collaborate on a fantastic hip hop record, all three at the top of their game... any fans of hip hop will do themselves an injustice if they don't take a listen to this

Freak Out Squares.
Narcimalion.
The Taste of Silver was a very promising band coming out of Somerville/Arlington, MA, but they suddenly broke up in 2007 while on tour... they played a sound based in the 90s screamo style, but also had grind, hardcore, death metal, and techy parts, making for a unique listening experience... I am now in multiple bands with their guitarist Faust (Heisai Yasokawa's Empty Orchestra, Fuck Everyone, Crippling Fear), their vocalist Rowan went on to do vocals for The Arkham White, and their drummer Alex currently drums for the band Parasitic Extirpation... this is one of my all time favorite local bands, so I think this deserves to be heard

Low.
Syracuse, NY's No Idols played an interesting brand of heavy, dark hardcore which drew from an eclectic list of influences, including Cursed, Queens of the Stone Age, Deadguy, Neurosis, Black Flag, Bad Brains, Floor, Cave In, and Majority Rule... very intriguing listen for any who enjoys any of those bands

Omega Drunk on the Blood of Alpha.
Denver, Colorado's Clinging to the Trees of a Forest Fire are a band that pretty awesomely (is that even a word?) mixes grind and sludge into a fantastic, heavy-as-balls sound... their debut full length for Prosthetic Records will be coming out pretty soon, so listen to this to hold you over in the meantime

Unrest.
"Boston's crust-hardcore kings Disrupt ground out ferocious music in their short but furious existence, establishing a reputation as one of the world's premier hardcore grind bands. Their first (and only) full-length Unrest contains 30 tracks of the most savage and powerful punk-inspired grindcore ever recorded. Influenced by E.N.T., Crude SS, Mob 47, Doom and Siege, Disrupt absolutely destroyed the deftly contrived major label hardcore of the time (and today) and set a standard matched by few punk bands since. Unrest is a grating anarchist audio onslaught that will put you in the mood for rebellion."

The Fear is Excruciating.....
the new Red Sparowes
no new ground broken for them really, just really good ambient instrumental music

Menace II Sobriety.
besides Razormaze and Municipal Waste, Cross Examination are the only other band in the modern crossover/thrash revival that's worth a damn IMO... playing fast, frenzied songs about drinking, partying, and pizza (yes, pizza), these guys will get you circle pitting in your pajamas

Cycles.
Alan stole some of my thunder, because I completely planned on posting the new Rotten Sound EP Napalm, and he completely beat me to the punch... so here is their most recent full length, Cycles, a blistering slab of awesome Scandinavian grind... 17 years in the game, and they're still a great band, and if you've never seen them live, make sure you do the next time they're in your area

Thousandswilldie.
here is the demo from Rhode Island's Thousandswilldie... 9 tracks of extremely fast and extremely short grind... check this out
btw, they released a split with Kill the Client which I haven't been able to find anywhere, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be forever grateful

Never Better.
P.O.S. is a very good MC from Minnesota... also being a member of the hardcore/punk band Building Better Bombs, P.O.S. draws from many hardcore influences as well as hip hop artists such as Saul Williams, Sage Francis, Murs, and El-P... if you watch Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory (OH NOEZ! AN MTV REALITY SHOW?!?!), you may have heard the song Goodbye in an episode... solid rapper if you're into the more underground modern hip hop sound

Time to Kill Space.
"Not what you’d typically think of when someone references “NYHC”; Celebrity Murders play fast, unrelenting hardcore in the vein of lots of bands that you’ve never heard. The only thing is, this time, the vocals are more angry and incomprehensible (buy the record), and the music seems to be created out of genuine passion for creating something more interesting than your modern “So You Think You Can Dance?, presents: NYHC” mosh record."

Gonna be somewhat lazy....
I feel bad because I've fallen behind on posting....but I really don't feel like writing out a bunch of band descriptions....so here's some releases from varying genres that I think everyone should have, or at least have heard....this shit is essential
