1998, before the 7" and two full lengths, here's video of Buried Alive's full set opening for Another Victim and All Out War in Rochester NY. One of the best videos I've ever seen on the internet. Death of Your Perfect World, if you don't have it. Fuck it, here's the split with Reach the Sky, and Last Rites.

Fighting Music.
Neanderthal as one of the first powerviolence bands is often overlooked when lumped in with MITB, Crossed Out, Infest and the like. However in 1990 Matt Domino and Eric Wood, prior to forming Infest and Man Is The Bastard created Fighting Music. 7 songs and roughly ten minutes of the muddy, shitty extreme balance of hardcore and sludge later to be known as powerviolence. Classic, influential powerviolence that is not to be overlooked.

Crowned In Terror.
The Crown's 2002 release with Tomas Lindberg on vocals. Re-released with original vocalist Johan Lindstrand in 2004. Fast, heavy stereotypical 2000-era Swedish metal. Nothing groundbreaking but very enjoyable for anyone into that sound. Obviously for anyone at all into At The Gates and the like.

Channel Live.
Hip-hop project organized and produced by KRS-One, Rheji Burrell and Salaam Rhemi. Station Identification. 1995. Check the video below and see for yourself. KRS absolutely kills it.

Man of Two Visions.
"Valkyrie is doom with oomph, providing the dour vibe but never getting bogged down in plodding riffs. What's even more impressive is how uncannily they channel that late '70's sound. Some bands rehash the style of their influences. With Valkyrie, they just play the music as it was back when music wasn't categorized in 300 different ways, and all that mattered was to plug in and play with conviction and soul." - Stonerrock.com
From Virginia, founded in 2002. Man of Two Visions is their 2008 full length.

Complete Discocrappy.
Released in 2000, this is a comprehensive collection of every song ever recorded by the influential powerviolence/hardcore band Charles Bronson... fronted by Mark McCoy (who later went on to sing for Das Oath, Holy Molar, and Failures), the band is famous for playing short, fast songs, its usage of samples, and its dark, satyrical lyrics... you should already have this

Progression Through Unlearning.
Snapcase were a hardcore band out of Buffalo, NY... before breaking up in 2005, Snapcase had a rather unique style of playing hardcore that is very hard to describe in words... this record was released in 1997, but it still sounds fresh and different... they are apparently reuniting to tour Germany, so here's hoping they end up reuniting for more than that

Rubberneck.
you've probably heard the song Possum Kingdom before, the "DO YOU WANNA DIE?!?" song that was popular in the 90s and still gets radio play on rock stations to this day... here is the record that was on, which was released back in 1994... if you want to write the Toadies off as "one hit wonders," you'll be making a mistake... this album is full of heavy rock songs with really dark subject matter... if you ever wondered what the Toadies sounded like besides Possum Kingdom but never got around to doing so, here's your chance

Mclusky Do Dallas.
Mclusky were a band that formed in Wales back in 1996... they played a dirty, garage-influenced style of indie rock with lyrics full of tongue-in-cheek humor... they went their separate ways in 2005, and have since formed two bands, Shooting At Unarmed Men and Future of the Left
DL
Need to Control.
Brutal Truth formed as a side project of Anthrax and Nuclear Assault bassist Dan Lilker back in 1990, but they ended up being one of the most influential grind bands to ever exist... this record is widely considered their best one, but you really can't go wrong with anything they've put out in their career, pre- or post-break up... classic stuff

Threefold Misery.
Destroy the Machines.
Earth Crisis are metallic hardcore from Syracuse, NY... the band that got me into hardcore... this band is pretty polarizing, either you love them or hate them... at one time, they led the militant straight edge movement in hardcore in the 90s... I've never been straight edge, vegetarian, or vegan in my life, and I probably never will be because I love booze and meat too much, but this band opened the door for me to the hardcore scene
